Tiki & Jolly

Jolly

Tiki

Tiki & Jolly
My husband & I rescued 5 puppies from a shop house in September 2007. The puppies belonged to Natasha..a dog that stay in the shophouse area. My husband is feeding Natasha daily with cooked meal from home. The 5 puppies are 2 females - Jolly & Lulu, 3 males - Lucky, Tiki & Bozo. We rescued the puppies from the mother Natasha because Natasha is so skinny and her body is unable to recover after giving birth, she also do not have much milk to feed the puppies. We separated Natasha from her puppies as we afraid that she might died, she lost her appetites, she is so skinny and you can see the bones from her body. We have no where to keep the puppies, we temporary kept the puppies in the warehouse...feed them and toilet trained the puppies. Luckily we are able to rehome some of the puppies. The remaining 2 puppies are Tiki & Jolly that we are unable to find them a home so we kept them in our house. Natasha recovered and she now put on weight...healthy & happy. My husband & myself later sent Natasha to the vet for spaying. She is now healthy and happy, we fed her home-cooked meal from home, we also put her on the worming tablets
In Brunei, we have a lot of stray dogs on the street...those are abandoned puppies/dogs and the numbers are growing. It's really sad to see this skinny stray dogs wandering around searching for food. Sometimes, people will kick them, throw stones at them, most of them are killed when trying to cross the roads. Recently, many kind-hearted people had come together and set-up Brunei first Animal Shelter, these people are all volunteers trying to save and help those poor stray dogs and puppies. I am also one of the member of the Animal Shelter Brunei and I hope more people will join us as members to help prebent cruelty to animals and to help stray cats & dogs in Brunei.

Veggie Biscuit

Hi,
It's been a while that I have not updated my blog...blame it on my work.

Have taken 2 days off during Chinese New Year and I have tried out this very healthy biscuit recipe "Veggie Biscuit". I used whole wheat flour, canola oil, broccoli, green peas, carrots or pumpkins and freshly cooked chicken broth.
At first, I am a abit worried that my dogs will not like the smell of veggie...but luckily they like the biscuit luckily even the picky eater "Hapi" like the biscuit too..
I wanted to bake some very healthy biscuits for my dogs, once a while they will have the Liver biscuits or treats and most of the time they will eat the "Healthy Biscuit" that consist of Oatmeal. The funny things about my dogs is that they never get bored with their daily Oatmeal breakfast. They still jumped around and happily waiting for their breakfast each morning.

Happy Chinese New Year

Hi,

Wishing every one a Happy Chinese New Year and May the Ox Year bring you good health, happiness and prosperity this year.

Best wishes from
Mike, Tom, Hapi, Jolly, Tiki and Kon

Protein

Protein are the most critical componet of food for our canine friends. Dogs need proteins to produce hairs, nails, tendons, cartilage and all the connective tissues that support the rest of the tissues and organs in the body so adequate proteins is important for dog's growth and proper development, for muscle development and strength, for a functioning immune system, for the production of functioning hormones, for the proper volume of blood, for injury repair and prevention and much much more.

Protein is the most important of all the nutrients in dogs food.

Dogs can get proteins from both animal and plant resources. Example of complete protein resources that come from animals are eggs, lean meat.

Dogs major source of proteins should be animal products not grains. Don't buy a dog food that contains soyabean meal, soy flour or corn gluten meal. Dogs that have sufficient enzymes to digest them.
